Recognition. A Joke.
by Lost in the fog inprotestants do not recognise or acknowledge the pope.
roman catholics do not recognise or acknowledge protestantism.
jehovah’s witness elders do not recognise or acknowledge each other when they bump into one another buying bottles of spirits at the off-licence on the way home from the meeting.

Craziest Speculations You’ve heard about the end and paradise
by Addison0998 inwe’ve all heard them all our life.
my two biggest stupidest ones i think are, “ we can really tell the end is almost here with the way people drive on the highway.” and a girl who said she wants to hurry up and marry her boyfriend because she’s scared if the end comes before their married, she’ll have to wait 1000 years to marry him.
oh and also a poor old lady saying that she hopes jehovah wipes away the memory of her disfellowshipped sons that he will have to destroy.

When famous gay rock stars commit suicide, and we hear "he'll be one of ours in the New World, Jehovah will give him a chance to learn the truth."
Why?
Oh and death severs the marriage tie. So how do I welcome back my dead loved parents since they will simply be 2 single people. I won't be part of their family, and then their ancestors won't be. Etc, etc.
And then we'll get to colonise all the other planets in the universe.

"The last DAYS?"
by eyeuse2badub ini was asked last sunday, after a meeting that i attended with my wife, by a good friend if i believed that these were indeed the "last days".
what prompted his question was the public talk given by a young man that i have known since he was 7 years old and is now an elder at 30.. the talk made mention several times that we are 'definitely' living in the "last days".
i assume that the expression "last days" was prominent in the outline.. i hope that he way i answered my friend's question jump started his thinking.

Personally I used to be extremely embarrassed showing householders the verse in Psalms "and just a little while longer and the wicked one will be no more," because 9 times out of 10 I was then asked by the householder "and that was written when? So what do you mean by 'a little while'?"
Are we there yet? Are we there yet?

Polish Clarinet,
Regarding political involvement, in particular Voting, if the WT in 1999 said it was a conscience matter - they appear to have changed their minds again since. Here is the quote from "God's Love" p214:
Voting in political elections.
True Christians respect the right of others to vote. They do not campaign against elections, and they cooperate with elected authorities. However, they remain resolutely neutral with regard to the political affairs of the nations. (Matthew 22:21; 1 Peter 3:16) What should a Christian do in lands where voting is compulsory or in a situation where feelings run high against those who do not go to the voting booth? Remembering that Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego went as far as the plain of Dura, a Christian, under similar circumstances, may decide to go to the booth if his conscience permits. However, he will take care not to violate his neutrality."

JW covering child abuse in UK
by Alex Bogdanov inhttps://amp.theguardian.com/world/2018/mar/25/jehovahs-witnesses-accused-of-silencing-victims-of-child-abuse-uk.
a year ago the government found that jws from manchester were involved in a child abuse, but the local congregation did everything to hide it and be in the way of the police investigation.
this situation is getting worse now.

Bible verses interpreted and twisted by WT to suit their agenda and purpose.
by EverApostate inthere are a whole bunch of bible verses that the wt interprets in its own way to:.
suit their agenda.. to make bible verses less silly/weird/bizarre.
to make god appear righteous, kind and justified.. to make the bible appear more practical and applicable for modern times.. have given a few here.

Jesus said “To the extent that you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.”—MATT. 25:40.
WT denies that this means all who are part of the Christian community but refers instead ONLY to the remaining ones of Christ’s spirit-anointed brothers on earth.
So the Watchtower Study magazine of March 2015 concluded that as a result.... (Quote:) "The growing number of prospective sheep count it a privilege to support Christ’s brothers not only in the preaching work but also in other practical ways. For example, they give financial contributions and help to build Kingdom Halls, Assembly Halls, and branch facilities, and they loyally obey those appointed by “the faithful and discreet slave” to take the lead."

The older I get the more angry I become!
by Sour Grapes ini did some self-reflection today trying to determine why, with every passing day, i become angrier against the watchtower company.
i am in my 70's and my health is failing.
at first, i thought it was because "worldly" people couldn't care less about jdubs and the little world they live in even though the witlesses think that the earth revolves around them and their desert god who was originally worshipped by the cainites.

Hi Sour Grapes and Others.
I am in the process of fading and I do find it difficult not to be angry at all of the time I have wasted. I am almost 60 and in very poor health, without the safety net of a lifetime of savings.
I have to curtail my anger otherwise I would take it out on my wife who is largely PIMI although some things do niggle her.
But along with the anger at the new organisation I also feel a void and an emptiness as I am a spiritual person inside but for now am unsure in which direction to turn. Sometimes I get angry at myself for not catching on to TTATT sooner. But that only leads me to anxiety and depression, which I have had therapy for in the past.
I just feel a great sadness reading through all your posts, and whilst I see that I am not alone in my feelings, I struggle with channelling my feelings in a positive way to improve my mood.
Love to you all.

If two are dating and are so much at risk of making mad passionate love that the elders insist a third person must be present as a chaperone doesn't that just open up the possibility of having a threesome?
Wonder if that has ever been the outcome?

Do you know a funny thing about elders insisting that single people who are dating be chaperoned? They have no problem if a single brother collects a car load of sisters to take them out in the ministry or to the Kingdom Hall, even though as he drops them back home he might eventually find himself alone in his car with a single sister.
But if the 2 started dating, suddenly a 3rd person is required to be there with the two of them. Isn't that crazy!?
